Glenn

Since being awarded his Masters of Visual Art in 2013, his work continues to describe, through paint, something of a transient state of identity. Kestell’s paintings are observations, which concern an idea of a ‘claustrophobic self’. Glenn Kestell, was the recipient of SALA’s Rip it Up award for Best Young Artist in 2014 and the Helpmann Academy's Emerging Artist Award in 2015.

These particular explorations of identity perhaps becomes apparent as an overwhelming feeling of self-apprehension and containment that allows for further queries and concerns about how others view us outside ourselves.

He currently works out of The Boiler Room Studios, which he founded and continues to run.
